Location
The Whitehead Memorial Museum is located at 1308 South Main Street. Just south of historic Downtown Del Rio. The museum general entrance is located at the 2 story stone Perry Mercantile.


NOTICE:  On April 28, 2023, South Main Street, from Strickland Street to Nicholson Street will change from a two-way street to a one-way street (heading south). Please use caution while drivers adjust to this change.

Parking
Free parking is available on Main Street right in front of the museum. Because we are located in a residential area, please take care not to block any private driveways. The museum is not responsible for any damages to vehicles parked on any public roads. A handicap parking area is available near the general entrance (Perry Mercantile).

Museums for All (W/ SNAP EBT/Lone Star & ID):$3.00

The Whitehead Memorial Museum participates in Museums for All. As participants, the Whitehead Memorial Museum offers $3 general admission to individuals and families receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits. Visitors simply show an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card and photo ID to redeem the discount for up to four people per card. 
Closures
The museum is closed every Monday.

Special Event Closure: During certain special events, the museum may delay opening, close early or close entirely.

Bad weather closure: The museum is an outdoor campus and during severe weather events, the museum may delay opening, close early or close entirely.

Holiday closure: The museum does close on Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

While we will always try to post such closures on this web site and on our Facebook page, we may not always be able to do so
